What began its life as a handbuilt fishermen's shack in historic Lettes Bay somewhere at the turn of the century, this humble far away cabin perched on the waters edge became a place of respite for Sarah Andrews — a Designer, Author and Sailor, after sinking her boat Gabrielle in the Pacific Ocean whilst attempting a solo circumnavigation. Hence her fond name, Captain’s Rest.
Now, this iconic Tasmanian accommodation in its incredible location is known and loved around the world. Her doors are open to all. Captain’s Rest is far more than just a stay - it’s a true West Coast experience like no other.

We sleep two people in one queen sized bed. We also have a small bathroom with a step-in bath.

We recommend at least five months to secure available dates for your planned trip — however, we often have short stays available within a month if your trip is flexible and you are able to stay between our existing bookings.
